Globethics.net is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Housel, who is responsible for Donor Relations and Strategic Partnerships at Globethics.net.

Upon her appointment, Globethics.net Executive Director Prof. Dr Obiora Ike spoke of the importance of this nomination. "Ms Housel brings to Globethics.net invaluable experience and increases our capacity as we set our sights on becoming the leading global network of teachers and institutions on ethics in higher education."

In her work at Globethics.net, Ms Housel will be developing new partnerships around the shared vision of building a more ethical world as well as strengthening existing ones. She will also be working closely with Globethics.net Regional Programmes and National Contacts to jointly develop creative new ways of establishing Globethics.net presence more deeply, and making Globethics.net resources, products and activities better known, in many countries and regions around the world.

Ms Housel started with Globethics.net in October 2020 and welcomes opportunities for cooperation with partners.

Get to know Christine Housel

Ms Housel is an experienced educator and executive passionate about building partnerships and spaces for communication and formation that create more loving, ethical communities.

She holds a BA (honours) in Philosophy from Wheaton College and a Masters in Divinity from Yale University Divinity School, and in both degrees ethics was a core subject. She began her professional life after graduation from university by teaching Advanced Writing, American Literature and Spoken English to English majors at Yangzhou University Teachers College in Jiangsu Province, China. From that time on, her work has been focused on supporting the development of young people through direct teaching and training as well as project and NGO (non-governmental organisation) management in universities, churches and NGOs.

In her recent role as General Secretary of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), Ms Housel successfully advocated for a greater inclusion of youth in the ecumenical community and in the United Nations. She created leadership materials and opportunities for student leaders from over 100 countries and inspired individuals and organisations to come alongside the students as funders and in relationships of mutual mentoring.

Ms Housel's expertise lies in strategic partner relationships in education and NGO management.She brings with her life-long commitment to discovering the richness that inter-cultural, inter-generational, ecumenical and inter-faith relationships bring. She has been a strong supporter of Globethics.net from its inception; she is enthusiastic to join the team in this moment of growth and to work together to make full use of the Globethic.net platform, network, and ever-increasing resources to inspire individuals and institutions to a more ethical life and a more just and peaceful world.
